Christian Simonis (LL.M)

Christian is acting as an inhouse counsel for an offshore wind farm operator. In addition, Christian is a Partner at SIMONIS Rechtsanwälte.
Christian started his professional career in 2008 as in-house counsel for an EPC contractor in charge of the installation and commissioning of the first commercial offshore wind farm in the German bight. Furthermore, Christian worked for a law firm specialized in renewable energies and for a leading manufacturer of offshore wind turbines.
Christian studied at the University of Bremen. After having successfully completed his first state examination, he attended a post graduate program at Leuphana University, graduating with a master’s degree (LL.M.). Christian spent his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court Oldenburg.
Dr. Klaus Simonis

Klaus is acting as an inhouse-counsel in the legal department of a German utility. In addition, Klaus is a Partner at SIMONIS Rechtsanwälte.
Klaus began his professional career in 2003 at the state government of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (there at the Department of Economic Development). In 2006, Klaus moved to the private sector and worked since then in the energy industry, with a focus on environmental law as well as on commercial law.
Klaus studied at the University of Bremen. After having completed his first state examination, he held a scholarship at the Institute on Private Law and Risk Regulation at the University of Bremen. Klaus spent his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court Bremen.
